I don’t care what anyone tells you … Honesty isn’t always the best policy. I’m not talking about those “intervention” type moments because frankly, those you’ve got to take care of. But the rest of the normal day to day stuff that you witness, it’s just not even worth addressing. No one really wants or needs to have their fatness confirmed. Their bad hair day acknowledged. Etc. Etc. So when people ask you these stupid attention-seeking questions, just smile and plead the fifth.
My policy is, say nothing
hurtful honest unless their life and/or health is in jeopardy. Brutal honesty is NOT always the way to go. Relationships can be destroyed in a millisecond, and is that really worth it?? I don’t think so.
Do yourself a favour and bite your tongue.
Unless of course any of these things occur, then you must intervene. You have permission to tell me if I’ve fallen victim to any of these and please know that I will return the favour to you if called for. Some things are just better left unseen.
1. Boogers hanging loose.
2. Toilet paper stuck to the bottom of shoes or sticking out of the back of pants.
3. Zipper undone.
4. Buttons undone.
5. Food stuck in teeth.
6. Clothing pieces on inside out or backwards.
7. Dryer sheets and/or socks, bras etc. stuck to clothes somewhere.
8. Mascara running down the face.
After having written all that down, maybe Honesty really is the best policy. 🙂
